Polaris Expeditionary Learning School seeks an Elementary Teacher for the 2026‑27 school year to teach 2nd and 3rd grade. The school is a K‑12 public option within Poudre School District serving over 400 students.
Responsibilities- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Develop individualized programs of instruction, classroom materials, lesson plans, and learning activities.
- Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one settings.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student assignments and assessments.
- Create an environment that maximizes instructional opportunity and supervise behavior and wellbeing.
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways, using data for meaningful feedback.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support, maintain documentation on academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Communicate student progress and needs with parents/guardians and staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve outcomes.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, family engagement, district policies, and professional excellence.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, cultural activities, and professional growth opportunities.
- Attend work and arrive punctually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program.
- Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
Salary follows the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule, ranging from $58,000 to $89,278 annually for a 100% assignment starting August 6, 2025.
