Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $58,000 – $89,278 annually (based on a 100% assignment).
Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, paid time off, short‑term and long‑term disability, employee walk‑in clinic, and other optional benefits.

Position is probationary. PSD employees under a licensed contract may apply and, if selected, retain contract status.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Valid Colorado Educator’s License with appropriate endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with proper teaching licensure program.
  • Experience instructing elementary students preferred.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
  • English language skills; bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Commitment to attendance requirements and Board/School policies.
  • Ability to work supportively with teachers, staff, and administrators.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, honesty, and integrity.
  • Ability to promote and follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
Teaching Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, individualized programs, classroom materials, lesson plans, and learning activities.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one settings.
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade assignments and assessments.
  • Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervises behavior and wellbeing, and administers discipline when appropriate.
  • Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
  • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation of academic, social, and emotional progress.
  • Communicate student progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve outcomes.
  • Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings; student and family conferences; social, cultural, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Operating knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and other departmental software.
  • Experience with typical educational/instructional technology equipment and programs.
  • Experience with typical office equipment.
  • Ability to work supportively with others and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and reporting procedures.
Physical & Working Conditions
