Job Summary
Responsible for instructing secondary level students in appropriate subject areas, coordinating curriculum, and adhering to district and state standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Create individualized programs of instruction for students.
- Prepare classroom materials and curriculum.
- Create lesson plans and learning activities.
- Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one settings.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student assignments and assessments.
- Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and wellbeing of students, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation of academic, social, and emotional progress and needs.
- Communicate students' progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions; student and family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
- Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
- Contracts 70% and above: health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, paid time off, short- and long-term disability, employee walk-in clinic, and other optional benefit elections.
- Contracts less than 70%: PERA retirement, paid time off, short- and long-term disability, employee walk-in clinic, and other optional benefit elections.
Contract percentages vary based on site needs. Work calendar days: 188. Duration:
Ongoing. This position is probationary. PSD employees currently under a licensed contract may apply for this position and, if selected, will retain contract status. Must have a valid Colorado Educator’s License with appropriate endorsement. Pay is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary
Schedule:
$58,000 – $89,278 annually, based on a 100% assignment starting August 10, 2026.
