The Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) branch is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated instructors to lead after-school academic and enrichment clubs at designated Title I and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) sites for the Winter/Spring 2026 session. Program schedules will vary depending on the assigned site, and the types of clubs offered will be based on each instructor's experience, skills, and interests.
This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by engaging students in hands-on, fun, and purposeful learning experiences outside the traditional classroom.

Pay Rate: $30 per hour

SUMMARYResponsible for leading and providing positive, enriching, and safe out-of-school time programs for students at PSD Title I sites and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC). These programs can include but are not limited to crafts, science, sports, music, and STEM focused clubs. With the support of the program coordinator and site manager, duties include preparing lesson plans and activities, implementing lesson plans and activities, actively supervising students, managing classroom space including set-up and clean-up, and encouraging student participation and engagement.
JOBTASKS
- Maintain active supervision of enrolled students to ensure safety and wellbeing, including awareness of student whereabouts, taking daily attendance, providing daily snack, safely transitioning students to transportation, and ensuring students are checked out at the end of programs. May also include positive collaboration and communication with support instructors or tutors.
- Create and manage a classroom environment that promotes positive learning and enrichment, including set-up, clean-up, supply organization, and classroom management.
- Utilize positive, respectful, and appropriate strategies when interacting with students and other staff, including trauma-informed practices.
- Conduct positive, respectful communication with on-site manager, area specialist, and program coordinator to relay relevant information regarding students, class plans and supplies, and other information. Maintain positive communication with parents and caregivers.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
- Plan and implement a positive and enriching out-of-school time club, with support from the program coordinator. Prepare lessons with detailed descriptions of how to implement activities and the required supplies before classes begin. Manage and modify lesson plans to fit student needs.
- Attend appropriate in-services, staff meetings and trainings, and/or school functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary courses in education, human development, family studies, or related fields preferred
- Minimum of one year experience working and leading activities with students
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Valid U.S. driver's license preferred
- CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
