Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
  • Create individualized programs of instruction for students.
  • Develop classroom materials and curriculum.
  • Plan lesson plans and learning activities.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one settings.
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade assignments and assessments.
  • Create a classroom environment maximizing instructional opportunity and supervise behavior and wellbeing, and administer discipline when appropriate.
  • Design assessment tasks to allow students to demonstrate understanding and use data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
  • Monitor student growth and adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation of academic, social, and emotional progress.
  • Communicate student progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to understanding and appreciating student diversity, engaging families, supporting district policies, and providing personal and professional excellence.
  • Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings; student and family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.
  • Attend work and arrive on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Colorado Educator’s License with appropriate endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a proper teaching licensure program required.
  • Preferred:
    Experience instructing students in a classroom setting.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Interpersonal relations skills.
  • Math and accounting skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Preferred:
    Bilingual oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work supportively with other teachers, staff, and administrators.
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members.
  • Ability to work in a team and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks, handle frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain honesty and integrity.
  • Ability to adhere to attendance requirements, regular and punctual presence.
  • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education and Superintendent policies, building and department procedures.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Operating knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and educational technology programs.
  • Operating knowledge of office equipment and typical educational/instructional technology equipment.

Pay and Salary

Salary based on the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule. Annual range $58,000 – $89,278 for a 100% assignment starting August 10, 2026.

Employment Status

This is a probationary position. PSD employees under contract may apply and retain contract status if selected.
