• Salary: $20.26–$22.69 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• Hours per day: 6.5.
• Work calendar days: 186.
• Position Duration:
Ongoing.

Responsibilities- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related experience.
- Experience working with special needs students preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes (five in first 2 years of hire).
- Oral and written communication skills.
- English language skills.
- Interpersonal relations skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Optional bilingual oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with students with moderate to severe physical, emotional, or special needs.
- Ability to diffuse volatile student situations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, use time efficiently, and follow instructions.
- Ability to lift and transfer students and provide behavior supports including de‑escalation and physical assistance.
- Ability to participate in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain honesty and integrity.
- Ability to adhere to attendance requirements.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies and district policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to recognize safety importance, follow safety rules, and report unsafe conditions.
Reports to:
School Administration. No direct supervisory responsibilities.
