Secondary Spanish Teacher, 2026-27 School Year – Poudre High School, Fort Collins, Colorado.
Starting date:
August 10, 2026. Full time (100% assignment) with 188 work calendar days. Ongoing position.

- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Create individualized programs of instruction for students.
- Develop classroom materials and curriculum.
- Write lesson plans and design learning activities.
- Instruct students in large group, small group, and one-on-one settings.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students’ assignments and assessments.
- Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and wellbeing of students, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding and use data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation of academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Communicate students’ progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions.
- Attend student and family conferences and other meetings.
- Participate in social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and proper teaching licensure program required.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
- Criminal background check required for hire.

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
- Operating knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Front Page).
- Operating knowledge of typical educational/instructional technology equipment and programs.
- Operating knowledge of typical office equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, honesty, and integrity.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, superintendent policies, and building and department procedures.
- Ability to work with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace and follow safety rules.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Employment TermsPosition is probationary. PSD employees currently under a licensed contract may apply and retain contract status if selected.
