Position: School of Education Instructor - Educator Preparation - Open Pool

Job Description

The School of Education seeks applications from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions within the Educator Preparation program for the  academic year. Instructors teach undergraduate pre‑service teaching courses in one or more areas of:

  • PreK – Grade 3:
    Early Childhood Education
  • Kindergarten – Grade 12:
    Art, Foreign Languages, Instructional Technology;
    Music
  • Secondary – Grades 7-12:
    Agricultural Education, Business Education, English, Family and Consumer Studies, Marketing Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Speech, Technology Education.

Desirable candidates can teach these courses face‑to‑face, online, on‑campus, and in local schools in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding. Salary

Range

$48,000 - $50,000

Compensation

$1,666.67 per credit hour instruction / $50,000 annual base salary

Conditions of Employment

Pre‑employment criminal background check (required for new hires).

Required Job Qualifications
  • Earned masters degree in education or a related field.
  • P-12 teaching license and/or a minimum of 3 years professional work experience in P-12 teaching or administration.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students using face‑to‑face and distance technologies.
  • Evidence of successful collaboration with public school teachers and administrators.
  • Experience in course development.
  • Evidence of or potential for scholarship and publication commensurate with a research university (high research activity).
