This position is a long‑term substitute assignment covering a leave of absence for a high school language arts teacher at Fossil Ridge High School. The substitute will work full time, 100 % of the scheduled work days for the specified period.
Job DescriptionResponsible for instructing secondary level students in appropriate subject area in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of District and state content standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Individualized programs of instruction for students.
- Classroom materials and curriculum.
- Lesson plans and learning activities.
- Understanding, appreciating, and making accommodations for student diversity.
- Including and engaging families in the student’s education.
- Supporting all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Providing personal and professional excellence.
- Department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions.
- Student and/or family conferences and other meetings.
- Social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.
- Professional growth opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
- Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
- Oral and written communication skills.

- Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
