Position: 2026-27 Paraprofessional Instructional K-12-Secondary-All School Locations

Overview

Paraprofessional, Instructional K-12 (All School Locations) – Poudre School District, Fort Collins, Colorado. Multiple positions at various locations available. Positions will range between 3 and 8 hours per day. 185 work calendar days per year. Duration: ongoing.

Position Details
  • Pay Range: $18.35–$20.55 per hour (based on qualifications and experience). The range listed applies to new hires; current employees should refer to the applicable salary schedule. PSD uses a salary placement process rather than negotiation and provides this information in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

    All PSD school locations; reporting to classroom teacher and school administration.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-on-one, small, and/or large student groups; support and implement the teacher's instruction plan.
  • Assist with preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, documenting student achievement, and monitoring students.
  • Monitor students in classroom and during breaks, lunch, recess, time outs, field trips, on/off the bus; reinforce school-wide discipline procedures.
  • Attend work regularly and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Assist with special projects for teachers and/or administration.
  • Attend in-services, building meetings, training, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school functions as required.
  • Administer state testing (TCAP) in small groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Education & Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • One year of related experience
    • Experience working with students in a school setting preferred
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
    Licenses, Certifications & Technical Skills
    • Criminal background check required for hire
    • Oral and written communication skills;
      English language skills
    • Interpersonal relations; mathematical skills; basic computer and keyboarding skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality; manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; follow instructions and management direction
    • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, as well as building and department procedures
    • Ability to work in a team, and to communicate and interact with people from diverse backgrounds
    • Bilingual abilities may be required or preferred
    • Commitment to safety and proper use of safety equipment; report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
    Materials & Equipment
    • Basic operating knowledge of personal computers, office software, and typical office equipment
    Reporting & Supervision
    • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities for other employees
    • Responsible for supervising the behavior and well-being of students in the classroom, on the bus, during recess, and on field trips
