Position Summary

The Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering, seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary teaching positions. Adjunct Faculty will provide instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in one of the topic areas listed below. These temporary positions may include teaching only one course or possibly more. Applicants to this pool are used to fill gaps in department curriculum and instruction.

Not all applicants will be contacted regarding a teaching opportunity.

We are specifically seeking applicants who are able to teach courses related to the following topics:

  • Engineering Fundamentals
  • Atmospheric Science
  • Civil & Environmental Engineering
  • Construction Engineering
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering

Description of Work Unit

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation's leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Walter Scott Jr. College of Engineering (WSCOE) at Colorado State University is a dynamic and diverse college comprising approximately 170 faculty, 300 postdoctoral scholars and research scientists, 95 academic and administrative staff, 2,500 undergraduate students, and 1,050 graduate students. The College is home to four academic departments serving both graduate and undergraduate students, two departments with graduate-only programs, two interdisciplinary degree-granting programs, and a federal cooperative research institute.

Salary Range

$35,000 - $120,000

Job Duties

Instruction and Evaluation of Engineering course material.

Conditions of Employment

Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).

Supervision

This position will not supervise employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants for Instructor positions must hold a minimum of a Master's Degree in an engineering or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications

It is highly desirable that individuals have a doctoral degree in an engineering discipline and previous experience in teaching or training.
