Role Description The Spanish Literacy Teacher is a full-time, on-site position located in Fort Collins, CO, responsible for delivering high-quality Spanish language and literacy instruction to students. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and implementing engaging lessons, developing and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs, and assessing student progress in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Spanish. The teacher will create an inclusive classroom environment, use data to guide instruction, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success.

Additional duties include providing targeted tutoring or small-group support, maintaining accurate records, participating in professional development, and contributing to school-wide initiatives aligned with PSD’s mission and standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Spanish Teaching and Teaching, with the ability to support a wide range of language and literacy levels.
  • Experience with Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development that aligns with district standards and culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to provide individualized support through Tutoring and small-group instruction to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English, with strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field; valid or eligible Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
  • Experience working in K–12 settings, particularly in literacy-focused or dual language programs, is preferred.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
