Industry Partnership & Career Education Coordinator

The Department of Construction Management is accepting applicants for a full time Industry Partnership & Career Education Coordinator. This position supports industry engagement, career education, and placement operations within the Department of Construction Management. The role focuses on coordinating industry partnerships including communications, delivering career readiness programming, and managing operational systems that support student placement and engagement.

The Department of Construction Management is one of the largest construction management programs in the country with approximately 800 undergraduate students, 20 graduate students, 20 faculty, and 7 professional staff. The undergraduate program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education. Academic advising, internship and career placement support are provided by professional staff. The Department engages in teaching, scholarly, and outreach activities to promote the development of knowledge and skills related to construction management.

The Department's facilities include over 36,000 square feet in dedicated labs (physical testing and computer), classrooms, and offices to support its research, teaching, and service mission.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Duties:

Industry Services (40%):

  • Advisory Board Coordination & Industry Partnerships:
    Coordinate operations of the Professional Advisory Development Board (PADB), including its Executive Council, committees, membership, and meeting support. Maintain and expand an industry engagement database with full contact information.
  • Event Coordination & Student–Industry Engagement:
    Plan and execute department networking events and engagement opportunities involving industry members. Facilitate student, faculty, and staff participation in department programs, events, and academic and community outreach/service activities involving industry members

Student Services (40%):

  • Career Education & Student Development:
    Provide career coaching in resume writing, interviewing, and job search strategies. Deliver workshops and career readiness programming. Serve as a resource for students on employability skills.
  • Placement Office Operations:
    Manage the CMJobs recruiting platform and coordinate on-campus recruiting. Support career fairs and recruiting initiatives. Support internship placement processes. Coordinate and attend internship jobsite visits. Assist with placement tracking and administrative processes. Work with the appropriate business officer for budget tracking of the Placement Office. Supervise Placement Office student employees.

Communications & Marketing (15%):

  • In collaboration with college communications teams, develop and distribute communications, including newsletters, event announcements, industry partner-facing materials, social media, and industry partner feature articles, and oversee PADB and relevant Placement Office website updates and public-facing materials.
  • Track and communicate impact of industry partnerships.

Service (5%):

  • Serve on Department, College, University, and External committees.
Supervision:
  • Position will not supervise any FT Admin Pro or Faculty positions.
  • Position will supervise student hourly employees (average of.5 FTE).
Conditions of Employment:
  • Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).
  • In-state travel required for internship site visits and industry engagement.
  • Occasional in and out-of-state travel for industry engagement.
  • Occasional evening/weekend work for events and career fairs.
  • Valid US driver's license with access to reliable transportation for in-state travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Communications, Higher Education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction management, career services, employer relations, event coordination, or workforce development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work in a team-oriented environment.
