Career Success Partner

The Career Success Partner is a professional career development practitioner who supports College of Business students and graduates through individualized and group coaching while also partnering across academic departments and the professional community. Career Success Partners are aligned with specific academic areas and serve as connectors among students, faculty, employers, alumni, and industry professionals. This role integrates student-facing career development work with relationship-based engagement in classrooms, programs, and experiential learning to advance career readiness and meaningful post-graduation outcomes.

Essential

Job Duties:
  • Provide individualized and group-based career readiness and development advising and support to undergraduate and graduate business students and alumni, supporting career exploration, decision-making, transition, and advancement.
  • Apply career development theory, student development principles, and industry awareness to help students translate interests, skills, academic learning, and experiences into compelling narratives, actionable career steps, and experiential learning strategies.
  • Partner with academic departments to understand curriculum, learning outcomes, and student needs, and use that insight to integrate career readiness, professional communication, and experiential learning into classrooms, programs, and co-curricular environments.
  • Connect employers, alumni, and industry professionals with student-focused career readiness efforts by facilitating engagement in classrooms, programs, mentoring, events, resource development, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Serve as a connector among students, faculty, employers, and the professional community, fostering relationships and experiences that align student development with academic and workforce contexts.
  • Participate in Career Management Center operations and shared responsibilities, including meetings, events, and initiatives that advance access to career opportunities and student success.
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervision:
  • This position may include direct supervision of one or more students at.25 FTE per week.
Conditions of Employment:
  • The position is primarily Monday-Friday during standard business hours, based onsite in the Career Management Center. Flexibility in work hours is required to support peak academic and recruitment periods, including occasional evening events (ex. career fairs, programs, student organization engagement, or employer engagements), and limited local travel as needed.
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Career Management Center will not sponsor a visa for this position now nor in the future.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant area (such as career counseling, student affairs/administration in higher education, business, human resources, or a related field) and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience (which may include relevant internships or graduate-level experience); OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant area and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in the career development field, career services, or related student-facing roles in higher education.
  • Experience applying relevant theories, approaches, and/or practices related to career counseling, career coaching, career development, and/or student development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Career development experience working with business students.
  • Experience developing and facilitating presentations, workshops, or learning experiences for groups or classes.
  • Degree in business.
  • Experience collaborating across academic, student support, or employer-involved environments.
  • Experience learning and leveraging technology to deliver leading-edge career services.
  • Professional commitment to CSU's Principles of Community.
