Postdoctoral Research Position in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics seeks applicants throughout the year who are interested in obtaining postdoctoral research experience in the area of mathematics. These temporary positions have the responsibility to conduct a program of research under the mentorship of a faculty research group within the department. A teaching load of up to 3 courses per year, as assigned by the department chair, is expected, and depends upon funding source.

Salary Range:$60,000-$65,000
EssentialJob Duties:
Research:
- On a continuing basis, pursue the independent research objectives outlined under duties and decisions, and meet weekly with your research group.
- This duty requires a knowledge in the assigned research area which far exceeding that of a graduate student.
- Participate in research group meetings and seminars.
- Present results.
- Promote collaboration with academic colleagues in other departments and/or at other universities.
- This duty requires maturity and research practice far exceeding what is required of a PhD student.
Teaching:
- The responsibilities are to teach a mixture of university level service courses and other courses for our Mathematics Majors.
- The employee will teach 3 courses per year, as assigned by the department chair.
Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).
Supervision:This position reports to a faculty member within the Department of Mathematics.
Minimum Qualifications:Applicant has a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or related science area by the date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:- 2 years of teaching experience at the university level or equivalent.
- Has a record of teaching a range of mathematics services courses and graduate courses.
- Has a record of being a course coordinator, and/or experiences teaching large number of students (75 or higher).
