This long-term substitute assignment will support Bennett Elementary School by covering a leave of absence for an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. Assignment dates are to be determined.

Duration of position:
One Semester Only (offical dates TBD)
Benefits include: PERA retirement
Will be paid the long-term substitute rate of $185.00/day
The substitute must have a valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization.

SUMMARY:
Responsible for creating an environment conducive to the learning needs of three- and four-year old children with disabilities and/or who are high risk and implement a comprehensive, individualized preschool curriculum.
- Course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Classroom materials, activities, and lesson plans.
- Meaningful programs for parents/families.
- Individualized Education Plan goals, objectives, and transition plans.
- Evaluate success of the educational approaches, specialized instruction, supports, and services.
- Adapt support as needed.
- Maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
- With teachers, support personnel, administrators, and other special education providers to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
- With colleagues in team and building-based meetings and discussions.
- Understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity.
- Include and engage families in the student’s education.
- Support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Provide personal and professional excellence.
- Department, team, building, IEP/staffing, and district meetings and discussions.
- Student and/or family conferences and other meetings.
- Social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.

- Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
- Experience in an educational setting with early childhood students and/or students with special needs preferred.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within 3 months of hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
