Position: Honors Instructor: Structured Mentoring—Open Pool

Position Summary

The Honors Program at Colorado State University seeks applications from qualified individuals interested in facilitating part-time Structured Mentoring Opportunities for Honors students. These one-credit, variable-content courses provide students with the chance to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that align with the Honors Program’s mission to cultivate applied, interdisciplinary, and professionally oriented scholarship. Structured Mentoring Opportunities are designed to connect students with real-world contexts in which they can develop practical skills and insight under the guidance of an experienced mentor.

Instructors serve as facilitators, creating a learning environment that reflects their disciplinary expertise while responding to current academic and/or community needs. These opportunities are intentionally experiential and may vary in focus—ranging from research support to civic engagement to professional skill-building—depending on the strengths and proposals of the instructor. Appointments are made on a part-time, semester-by-semester basis, depending on program needs and student interest.

Structured Mentoring experiences typically enroll small cohorts, providing the opportunity for deep mentorship and personalized guidance. The Honors Program values pluralism and purpose-driven education rooted in CSU’s Land-Grant mission. We invite applicants who are excited to contribute to an innovative curriculum that prepares students to address the complexities of today’s world through practical, civic, and interdisciplinary engagement.
