Position Summary:
The Department of Sociology is looking to hire a temporary Academic Coordinator. The primary area of focus this position is academic advising of undergraduate students, support to graduate students, and development and implementation of special projects at the department level. This position will actively develop relationships to collaborate with various campus offices and increase student awareness of and participation in department and CSU activities.

EssentialJob Duties:
- Support and coordinate administration of the undergraduate academic program, including scheduling, student support, minor advising and program processes.
- Coordinate undergraduate recruitment activities, engagement, enrollment, and student success initiatives.
- Coordinate administration of the graduate academic program, including tracking student progress, advising on graduate school requirements, and program activities.
- Support graduate recruitment, admissions, and admitted-student engagement.
- Support key administrative processes including program planning, learning assessment, events, and other department initiatives related to the academic program.

The position may supervisor a small number of student hourly positions
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Education, or related field
- Minimum of one year experience working with students in an academic advising capacity
- Minimum of two years experience working as an office or administrative assistant
- Familiarity with CSU Sociology course requirements
- Knowledge of the CSU processes, programs, and resources
- Familiarity with required and elective courses needed to complete Sociology degree
- Familiarity with transfer evaluation process
$28.00 - $30,00 per hour
