Position Summary:

The Director of the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC) is a full-time, 12-month, Administrative Professional position reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Division of Student Affairs. APACC staff is comprised of an Assistant Director, Student Success Coordinator and student staff and volunteers.

The Director oversees all programs, services, and operations of the cultural center, applying forward thinking leadership on behalf of the students based in awareness of current and relevant topics within the Asian American, Pacific Islander, Southwest Asian, North African, Middle Eastern, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and multicultural communities on campus and in the broader society that impact CSU students.

The Asian/Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC) Is part of the Division of Student Affairs, specifically one of six Cultural Resource Centers (CRCs). APACC supports student success through educational programs, services, and community building opportunities. Open to all students, APACC welcomes those interested in connecting with Asian American, Pacific Islander, Southwest Asian, North African, Middle Eastern, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and multicultural communities.

APACC supports students with their transition to CSU and throughout their academic careers by providing support and encouragement for their academic, professional, cultural, and personal development.

The Director provides leadership in the development and the implementation of education and outreach programming on social justice issues. Knowledge of, and experience with, educational programming from an intersectional framework is a core component of this position. In addition, this position will actively embrace and role model CSU’s Principles of Community.

Job Duties:

Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC), ensuring alignment with the Division of Student Affairs and Colorado State University missions, values, and strategic priorities.

Lead, supervise, develop, and evaluate professional staff, graduate assistants, interns, and student employees while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

Design, implement, and assess culturally responsive student success initiatives, leadership development programs, educational programming, and outreach efforts that support APIDA, SWANA, multiracial, transracial adoptee, and Third Culture Kid students.

Cultivate a welcoming and affirming environment that promotes belonging, engagement, retention, persistence, and graduation for all students.

Develop and sustain collaborative partnerships with campus departments, academic colleges, student organizations, community stakeholders, alumni, and external constituents to advance student success and cultural education.

Oversee the administrative and operational functions of the center, including budgeting, fiscal management, policy development, resource allocation, facilities oversight, reporting, payroll approvals, and organizational effectiveness. Secure and steward financial resources through fundraising, grant and proposal development, scholarship administration, and relationship-building to support the center’s mission and programming goals.

Facilitate training, workshops, and educational initiatives that increase awareness and understanding across the university community.

Represent APACC, the Division of Student Affairs, and CSU at the institutional, local, regional, and national levels while contributing to divisional leadership, committees, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
