The VP, Systems Integration is responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing of Generac's products. This role leads a talented team in driving technological advancements and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability while fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
Major Responsibilities- Structuring and operation of the product development engineering function as a cohesive unit.
- Providing strategic oversight and direction to teams managing all business group projects.
- Partnering with Internal Compliance organization to ensure internal controls and design are in adherence with company and industry regulatory requirements.
- Providing strategic direction and guidance to teams responsible for quality designs in accordance with agreed upon specifications and achieved within the stated timeline and budget.
- Fostering of innovative integrated solutions to solve customer and market needs in the portable and standby power generation industry.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in product development and/or core technology development.
- Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in product, technology or innovation engineering.
- Knowledge of product portfolio integration / integrated system of products.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a matrixed organization to align business groups with core engineering functions and work cross-functionally with other engineering departments.
Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Engineering or Business.
- Prior experience directly managing Engineering professionals including Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and teams responsible for designing complex electrical, mechanical, and connected devices.
- Experience with global product support and development.
- Experience in Value Engineering.
- Experience in high growth, rapidly expanding organization.
- Knowledge of engine-driven powered products.
- Experience with power generation, power storage and conversion.
- Deep knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in engineering and product design and development for subsystems of products.
- Ability to develop business acumen to guide and inform strategic decisions and understand business impact.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, internal partners, and the Generac Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, drive change, and deliver results in a dynamic and evolving landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to bring forward creative solutions to identified business challenges.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
