OverviewAs a Detailer you will coordinate and execute mechanical and pipe/plumbing systems within projects. Responsibilities include reviewing plans, specifications and submittals to accurately design and coordinate plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems. You will identify and communicate design issues to engineers and general contractors, ensuring seamless integration of all systems. In a design-build environment you will collaborate closely with engineers from conceptual design through to final drawing and detailing of mechanical systems.
You will generate clear and precise drawings that guide field teams to install and prefabricate systems.
To design, coordinate, and produce detailed drawings for mechanical systems, facilitating prefabrication and installation while ensuring project success.
Duties and Responsibilities- Use Fabrication CADmep to detail jobs.
- Download shop drawings to the fabrication shop.
- Communicate with engineers and field foremen.
- Assist project managers in reviewing submittals.
- Order materials from CAD-generated material lists.
- Find the cleanest and most cost‑effective route for all systems.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, managing files and records, and other office procedures. Provide customer and personal services, assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction.
Communication and Interpersonal SkillsEffective oral and written communication. Active listening, problem solving, critical thinking, judgment and decision making, management of personnel resources, active learning, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Qualifications- High School Diploma required.
- 2–3 years related experience; 3–5 years field foreman experience preferred.
- Willingness to attend Fabrication CADmep, AutoCAD, and Revit training.
- Ability to read and understand all construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to read and review all submittals and make corrections.
- Can enter a job site and verify existing conditions.
- Position largely sedentary, with some walking, bending, and standing.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must use a computer for extended periods.
- Successfully pass background check, drug screening, and employment verification.
