This opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing buildings and structures into complex industrial complexes and is looking to expand its foothold in the Critical Facilities Market. The client is applying their expertise to brownfield and greenfield data center projects – including site development, building shell, structural scope, architectural build‑outs, and campus expansions for hyperscale, colo, or enterprise marketplaces.

This company will provide a complete life cycle of solutions custom‑fit to the requirements of its client’s mission‑critical facility. The role offers career growth, exciting projects with leading‑edge technology and innovation, and competitive salaries and benefits.

We are looking for a Civil / Structural / Architecture – CSA – Data Center Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Construction Project Manager will manage all aspects of project delivery with a heavy emphasis on Civil, Site Development, Structural, and Architectural scope (site layout, grading, utilities, building shell, foundations, envelope, permitting, and constructability). The candidate will lead contractors and vendors, manage budgets and schedules, ensure quality meets company design standards, and maintain good relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain liaison with contractors and vendors (Civil, Structural, Architecture/CSA) to manage day‑to‑day activities impacting layout, footprint, and utility interconnection.
  • Ensure that contractors meet day‑to‑day responsibilities with emphasis on site readiness milestones, early works, permitting, and long‑lead procurement.
  • Follow site layout concepts using Civil 3D, incorporating grading, utilities, and circulation patterns.
  • Create and manage project schedules, including civil phasing, foundation/slab sequencing, steel erection, enclosure, and architectural fit‑out.
  • Prepare project plans, size‑up costs, budgets, scheduling, and manage change orders including site development budgets and utility interconnect timelines.
  • Assist with reporting and RFPs to contractors for civil/site, structural packages, shell/envelope bid documents, and architectural scopes.
  • Deliver Built‑to‑Suit projects with heavy emphasis on value‑engineering and optimization of civil, structural, and enclosure materials.
  • Drive company standards for project delivery, site design, building prototypes, and documentation requirements.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) while maintaining client relationships.
  • Represent the company in permitting, utility coordination, and design coordination meetings.
  • Communicate construction standards to internal and external project partners.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with in‑region stakeholders.
  • Maintain all required logs to track project progress.
  • Coordinate with internal and external architectural, structural, and MEP engineering teams to ensure scope alignment, constructability, and schedule adherence.
  • Manage diligence efforts, optimize utility and network interconnections.
  • Support site assessments and due diligence for brownfield conversions.
  • Foresee and manage project‑specific cost and schedule variables such as stormwater requirements and permitting lead times.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
  • Manage multiple fast‑paced projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
  • Experience managing data center construction projects as owner or general contractor, preferably CSA‑driven delivery.
  • Adequate experience converting existing buildings into data centers (brownfield) including site constraints and retrofit scope.
  • Experience managing budgets exceeding $200 million.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in the data center construction industry within the CSA space, with knowledge of land use and development practices.
  • BA/BS/Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or Architecture is a plus.
  • Experience with hyperscale, colo, or enterprise data center/mission‑critical…
