Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you may support a variety of geotechnical engineering projects within the mining industry, including:

• Assist with the design of major earthwork projects, including tailings dams, heap leach facilities, and ancillary infrastructure.
• Assist with geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability, seepage, and liquefaction evaluations.
• Prepare civil layouts and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with the preparation of design reports and project proposals.
• Support geotechnical aspects of permitting, reclamation, and closure activities.

Here’s what we are looking for...

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline. Students entering their junior year, senior year, or graduate studies are encouraged to apply.
• Strong interest in developing engineering and technical skills in a consulting environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to pay close attention to detail and deliver quality work.
• Ability to use sound judgment and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
• Ability to travel to project and field locations as needed.
• Interest in learning geotechnical engineering fundamentals relevant to mine facility design and construction practices.
• Interest in learning to read and understand construction engineering plans and drawings, including sheet references and layering.

Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office; experience with geotechnical engineering software preferred.

In accordance with Colorado state law, the hourly pay range for this position is: $25.00 - $30.00 an hour. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based on experience, education, and skill level.
