Role Summary
Cinematic Assistant Managers assist in the overall operation of the theatre. They ensure policies and procedures are being followed and operational standards are achieved. They are cross‑trained in all departments to support where needed and provide inspirational training to all Employees. An Assistant Manager can advance to Senior Assistant Manager followed by Theatre Manager or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and working for a minimum of six months.
Responsibilities- Follow the direction of the General Manager and support the GM’s decisions in communication with staff.
- Work in all departments and all theatre job functions.
- Train and coach Team Members in their specific job functions.
- Assist in the preparation of administrative and special reports for the General Manager.
- Observe and participate in inspections of the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof and exterior signage, and equipment condition.
- Report the need for building, property, and equipment repairs to the General Manager.
- Ensure that theatre Team Members follow the dress code.
- Interact with guests to improve service and ensure that Team Members provide superior customer service.
- Learn and follow the policies and procedures as established in Cinemark’s Guidelines and enforce them consistently.
- Report all employee‑relations issues to the General Manager according to the Employee Relations Reporting Protocol.
- Maintain a high work‑ethic standard and code of conduct.
- Identify and sanitize high‑contact employee and guest areas.
- Use personal protective equipment while completing position‑specific tasks.
- Adapt to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks.
- Address any safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.).
- Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School or G.E.D. graduate preferred.
- Completion of three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program.
- Completes basic food‑handling training and obtains any local or state‑mandated certification, health card, or food‑handlers permit where required.
- Management members who work with alcohol must complete a Safe Alcohol Service training program.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift.
- Excellent guest service and accurate cash handling/basic math skills.
- Interpersonal skills: effective verbal and written communication with all ages, genders, and personalities; ability to converse in and comprehend English.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, take and follow directions, and respond with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to train and lead others and resolve conflict.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre.
- Noise level may be moderate to high at times.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
