Manager, FP&A

Overview

Woodward is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes for the Industrial segment. This hands‑on role will play a critical part in supporting strategic decision‑making by providing insightful financial analysis, identifying trends, and ensuring the company achieves its financial goals.

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities for the Industrial segment.
• Partner with business units and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision‑making.
• Ensure financial processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including participation in audits and implementation of controls to mitigate risk.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage one other finance professional, setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback.

• Expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong business partnering skills, providing financial insights to support decision‑making.
• Knowledge of compliance and risk management, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Experience driving process improvement initiatives, including adoption of Power BI and AI tools.
• Leadership ability to manage, coach, and develop finance professionals.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to senior management.
• Project management experience, managing projects from start to finish.
• Analytical skills to identify financial discrepancies or anomalies.
• Leadership capability to inspire and drive shared goals across finance and beyond.

• Experience working across global teams in the industrial manufacturing sector.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to simultaneously manage and contribute to multiple process and tool improvement projects.
• Advanced skills using Power BI with a strong interest in applying AI to drive efficiencies.
• Capacity to oversee planning and reporting processes while actively contributing to specific functional financial analyses.
• 7‑10 years of finance experience, with an emphasis on FP&A tasks and responsibilities.
• 1‑3 years of leadership experience, specifically setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing timely feedback.
