About the Role
Senior Analyst – Not‑For‑Profit Health Care Team (Americas Public Finance). You will lead credit analysis for acute care hospitals, health systems, senior living, and human service provider ratings across the nation. Your work includes meeting with issuers, assessing historical and projected data, compiling thorough committee presentations, and delivering effective written analyses.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary analyst on credit transactions and prepare well‑supported rating recommendations for rating committees.
- Act as an active, vocal voting member of the rating committee, reviewing materials prior to publication.
- Publish timely, insightful credit reports and contribute to relevant research pieces.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of rating criteria and financial statement analysis, staying informed on credit quality issues in the health‑care sector and municipal bond market.
- Participate in moderately complex analytical and deal‑specific situations.
- Assist in resolving client needs and participate in investor calls with more senior analysts.
- Contribute to research publications or special projects.
- Attend office days (minimum 2 days per week).
- Basic Requirements: 2–5+ years of municipal markets experience (health‑care experience is highly relevant); bachelor’s degree required, postgraduate qualifications advantageous; strong quantitative analysis skills; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication; attention to detail and ability to apply criteria to generate analytical insights.
- Preferred Qualifications: strong understanding of financial reporting and markets; knowledge of S&P’s analytical products; proficiency in Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning new applications; ability to collaborate effectively; experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
- All finalists must attend an in‑person interview at the nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
US candidates only: base salary range $90,000 – $115,000 (location and experience dependent). Eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.
