Pay: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Summary

Performs whole blood collection and apheresis procedures according to established regulatory requirements. Coordinates and implements procedures involved in evaluation, collection, processing of products and care of donors/patients. Drives to and hosts mobile blood drives to qualify and collect blood from donors in and outside the community.

Responsibilities
  • Qualifies donors according to established regulatory and laboratory guidelines through questionnaire review and clarification as well as evaluation of vitals.
  • Performs waived and moderate complexity testing in order to ensure the pre‑donation safety of donors.
  • Executes whole blood collections and apheresis procurement of platelets, plasma, and red blood cells in accordance with AABB and FDA guidelines.
  • Processes, labels, stores, and ships blood components in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED. Preferred:
    Completed phlebotomy training program through a health careers program.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in‑hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
