Job Overview

A Global Defense Contractor is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to provide expertise to a federal client in support of mission‑critical defense systems. Your role will involve overseeing database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our SQL databases. This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO and requires an active Secret security clearance.

• Administer and maintain SQL Server database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Administer and maintain database operational status and performance monitoring.
• Administer and maintain database replication monitoring and fault correction.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Perform database design, data modeling, and schema management to support application requirements.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
• Conduct database capacity planning and forecasting.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance.
• Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• Active Secret Clearance.
• Only U.S. Citizens are eligible; dual citizenship is not considered.
• 7+ years of experience with database administration or related technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL.
• Must reside within a commutable distance for daily onsite work and on‑call requirements.
• Must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on‑call schedule, for a system that requires 24x7x365 uptime.
