Principal Specialist Procurement

Job Summary

Principal Specialist Procurement to develop, improve, and monitor a supply chain that provides products and services that meet or exceed the quality, delivery and cost objectives at a large manufacturing site in Pueblo, Colorado. Position Type:
Onsite. Eligibility: U.S. Person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual). Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.

• Lead indirect and direct purchasing at the site.
• Procure materials, supplies and services to meet quality, delivery and cost objectives.
• Manage the purchase order process within the SAP system.
• Research, interview, monitor and evaluate suppliers for quality, delivery, total cost and service.
• Manage RFQ and RFP processes.
• Develop, implement and monitor lean/six sigma purchasing procedures and policies.
• Train staff as necessary.
• Drive value engineering efforts with key suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain all purchasing reports, records, files and related material.
• Ensure invoicing is handled timely and accurately so vendors are paid correctly and on time.
• Provide remote support to multiple sites.
• Support and help implement supply chain initiatives at the site.
• Travel up to 20% required.

• University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Experience in purchasing and supplier negotiation.
• Experience sourcing direct and indirect materials.
• Scheduling experience.
• Project management and contract review experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Principles and Six Sigma.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Problem‑solving and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
• Experience with SAP and MRP.
