Material Handler - Temporary Contract

Contract Duration: 3–6 months

Shift: 1st Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler for a short-term contract role. In this position, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and transferring materials to appropriate workstations or storage areas. You will ensure items are stocked in designated locations and pick materials for assembly, sub-assembly, and spare-parts orders. Additional duties include conducting inventory transactions, maintaining traceability with proper labeling, completing administrative tasks, and adhering to all safety procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and transfer materials to proper workstations or storage
  • Stock items on racks, trays, and shelves in predetermined locations
  • Pick materials for assembly, sub-assembly, and spare-parts orders
  • Conduct inventory transactions: issue, return, count, weigh, adjust, and package materials
  • Maintain traceability with proper labeling and tag attachment
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as paperwork verification and data entry
  • Adhere to all safety procedures during handling, lifting, and operation
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge and use of basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers)
  • Understanding of part special handling guidelines and specifications
  • Proficiency in using shipping equipment (e.g., foam-in-place machine, bubble wrap machine)
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement processes
  • Ability to ensure quality consistently and improve operational effectiveness
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in computer and web-based systems (e.g., Microsoft applications)
  • Effective communication and ability to provide guidance to coworkers
Additional

  • Ability to use general office equipment
  • Capability to communicate technical material to individuals with limited knowledge in the area
  • Basic negotiation and influence skills, as well as cooperation, tact, and diplomacy
  • General knowledge of machines

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Collins, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
