Salary: $39.63/hour with addition for OT opportunities. Average annual salary $105,000 – $180,000.
Shift: 12-hours rotating shifts, 4 days on / 4 days off—including weekends and holidays
Role SummaryAs a Utilities Operator at our Fort Collins Brewery, you're the backbone of the operation. You'll be responsible for keeping our brewery's critical systems running — steam generation, ammonia refrigeration, CO2, compressed air, water treatment, and high voltage electrical distribution. You'll troubleshoot, optimize, and make real‑time decisions that keep production moving. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, loves solving complex problems, and owns their work in a quality, food processing environment.
Job Responsibilities- Adhere to brewery safety and environmental standards including Lock Out Tag Out, work permitting, Process Safety Management, hazard identification and resolution
- Operate Brewery Utility systems: steam generation, ammonia refrigeration and dehumidification, CO2 collection and liquefaction, compressed air, water treatment and alcohol distillation, high voltage electricity distribution
- Perform boiler water and evaporative condenser water chemical treatment
- Responsible for process management, basic maintenance tasks, lubrication, housekeeping and sanitation
- Document and respond to all activities that occur during shift of responsibility
- Respond to customer department requests for assistance with Utility system optimization or troubleshooting
- Analyze process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and improvement activities
- Lead and participate in continuous process improvement activities throughout brewery
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures (LOTO, PSM, personal fall protection, confined space) required
- Stationary Engineers License or current enrollment in a related program preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following: water tube pressure boilers, large scale ammonia refrigeration systems, CO2 collection and liquefaction, compressed air systems, distillation columns, high voltage electricity distribution
- Basic computer skills
- Positive work attitude, self‑motivated, able to work safely and autonomously in a fast paced loud production environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively in a diverse team
- Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and propose and implement remedies
