Systems Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists
In the role of ICT (Information & Communication Technology)/Security BIM Designer at HDR, you will help design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age. Your contributions will power progress, enable innovation and shape spaces where people work, connect and thrive.
Responsibilities- Work alongside Senior ICT/Security Technical Specialists to deliver accurate and professional design documents.
- Apply general engineering knowledge of telecommunications or electronic security systems, or be willing to learn.
- Collaborate with junior and senior designers to ensure customer needs are reflected in the 3-D model using Revit or similar software.
- Work independently to produce construction documents in Revit to show design intent and support system-related activities throughout construction administration.
- Coordinate with integrated multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs and other project requirements.
- Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when needed.
- Perform declatch exercises in Revit to coordinate ICT/Security scopes with other disciplines.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Minimum 1-year related industry experience.
- 3D design software skillset and document-management infrastructure experience.
- Understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
- Knowledge of industry standards, practices, discipline codes and specifications.
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently and deliver on schedule.
- Ability to work in a high-velocity environment while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
- Commitment to being an active participant in an employee-owned culture.
- Desire to progress into a designer role.
- BICSI RCDD, DCDC, OSP, RTPM or PSP certifications are a plus.
- Experience with data centers and federal entities is a plus.
- Can-Do attitude and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong computer skills: proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.
- Technically qualified with 3D design software and document-management infrastructure.
- Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organization.
