Job DescriptionThe Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology at Colorado State University seeks Research Associate positions in infectious disease research laboratories. These positions may be temporary or special assignments and will be filled as opportunities arise.
Essential Duties- General lab organization and ordering of supplies.
- Management of records under Human and Animal Institutional Review Board protocols.
- Data collection, entry, and management.
- Statistical analysis and use of custom computer programs.
- Training of staff and supervision of undergraduate and graduate research assistants.
- Conduct physiological experiments with animals and handle laboratory animals and tissue/blood samples.
- Professional development participation as appropriate.
- Write reports, check documentation, maintain inventory, and ensure compliance with grant criteria.
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- For Level I – less than 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- For Level II – 3 or more years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with no experience.
- For Level III – 5 or more years of experience or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience; a PhD with no experience may also be considered.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States by time of application; no visa sponsorship will be provided.
- Knowledge or experience in bacteriology, virology, parasitology, pathology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, prion biology, or vector biology.
- At least one year of work experience.
Research Associate I: $41,700 - $65,000
Research Associate II: $50,000 - $70,000
Research Associate III: $57,000 - $75,000

SupervisionThis position reports to a faculty member within the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology. Day‑to‑day supervision and expectations are defined by the hiring laboratory.
