Entomological Research Assistant
Entomological Research Assistant to conduct greenhouse and field experiments on the pollination of chile pepper plants by native insects, including bees. This part-time position (up to 30 hours per week) is available in the Department of Biological Sciences. Work will be conducted on the Fort Collins campus of Colorado State University and at CSU agricultural experiment stations. Some overnight travel required.

Essential Job Duties
- Conduct greenhouse pollination experiments using commercially-sourced bumblebee colonies. Order bees, maintain bees in the laboratory, transport bees to the greenhouse, plant and rear chile pepper plants, conduct pollination experiments with caged plants.
- Conduct field surveys of pollinator visits to chile pepper plants.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a driver’s license and be able to travel overnight within the state of Colorado.
Supervision
Dr. Micky Eubanks, Department of Agricultural Biology, is the supervisor for this position.
Minimum Qualifications
Greenhouse and field experience with bees and other pollinators, including bee husbandry and pollinator identification.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with insect pollination of chile peppers and experience growing chile peppers in a greenhouse.
