Position Summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a dynamic and visionary Public Sector Account Manager to act as a trusted advisor to our most strategic users.
In this role, you will be the champion of change, empowering new and existing State and Local Government Accounts in North America to unlock the full potential of their digital strategy. This isn’t just a sales role; it’s an opportunity to drive meaningful business outcomes, foster innovation, and solidify Bentley’s position as an indispensable partner.
Responsibilities- Develop and nurture deep, collaborative relationships with local and state government, becoming their go-to advisor for digital advancement and strategy.
- Build and execute comprehensive, strategic business plans for your assigned accounts, aligning and influencing key stakeholders within the account’s organization and across Bentley to ensure flawless execution and mutual success.
- Understand and comply with Public Sector Practices and Government Contracting regulations.
- Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities within your territory, driving sales growth and exceeding quota by expanding Bentley's footprint in key whitespace areas.
- Champion the Bentley vision by articulating our value proposition to designers, engineers, architects, and infrastructure owners, ensuring they have the solutions needed to exceed their most ambitious business goals.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline from prospecting to closure, leading negotiations for complex sales contracts and service agreements while maintaining meticulous records in our CRM.
- Maintain an expert-level understanding of Bentley's cutting‑edge solutions and services, positioning yourself as a thought leader and a vital resource for your clients.
- Work as a full‑time individual contributor, collaborating and coordinating with managers, peers, and other colleagues virtually or in person, using Microsoft Teams chat, call, and meeting functions.
- Adhere to required sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer.
- At least 5 years of experience selling software solutions to the engineering and infrastructure sector. Experience in public‑sector selling is preferred.
- Solid understanding of engineering design processes, industry workflows, and the business challenges faced by large‑scale infrastructure and construction organizations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver compelling and persuasive presentations to senior executive audiences.
- Highly organized and disciplined approach to managing time, pipeline, and account strategies, backed by a high level of personal integrity.
- Proactive, “can‑do” attitude and self‑motivation to thrive in a dynamic, high‑performance environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to engage with clients and internal teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
