This role is designed for individuals who enjoy working in public-facing environments and can adapt to changing event conditions. Assignments may vary based on venue size, attendance levels, and operational requirements. Security Officers are expected to maintain a visible presence, support event operations, assist guests when needed, and respond appropriately to safety concerns while following established procedures.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities Venue Security & Monitoring
- Patrol designated event areas, entrances, exits, and restricted sections
- Maintain awareness of guest activity and venue conditions
- Monitor for safety concerns, policy violations, or suspicious behavior
- Help protect event property, equipment, and authorized access areas
- Provide a professional and visible security presence throughout the assignment
- Verify tickets, credentials, wristbands, badges, or event authorization
- Monitor designated entry and exit points
- Conduct bag inspections when required by venue policy
- Assist with access restrictions for performers, vendors, staff, and VIP areas
- Enforce event rules and site-specific procedures professionally
- Assist with crowd movement during arrivals, departures, and peak attendance periods
- Monitor gathering areas to help maintain orderly conditions
- Support traffic flow within event spaces and pedestrian pathways
- Observe developing situations and communicate concerns promptly
- Assist with line management and directional guidance when necessary
- Responding to disturbances, medical situations, or security-related concerns
- Use effective communication and de-escalation techniques when addressing conflicts
- Coordinate with supervisors and emergency personnel when appropriate
- Follow emergency procedures and incident response protocols
- Maintain composure and sound judgment during high-activity situations
- Complete incident reports accurately and professionally
- Record unusual activity, security concerns, or operational issues
- Communicate important information to supervisors and event management
- Maintain documentation in accordance with company standards
- Provide assistance and directions to guests and visitors
- Answer questions in a courteous and professional manner
- Promote a positive experience while maintaining security responsibilities
- Interact respectfully with event staff, vendors, performers, and attendees
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work in crowded public environments
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Reliable attendance and professional appearance
- Ability to follow instructions and site-specific procedures
- Personal transportation required to travel to assigned event locations
- Previous experience in event security, customer service, hospitality, or crowd management
- Experience working concerts, festivals, sporting events, or public gatherings
- Familiarity with access control procedures and guest screening
- Experience writing reports or documenting incidents
- Strong observational abilities and attention to detail
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Professional conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
- Effective verbal communication
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Situational awareness in fast-moving environments
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Indoor and outdoor event venues
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Large crowds and high-traffic public environments
- Day, evening, weekend, and holiday assignments may be available
