Vehicle Maintenance Foreperson

Coordinates the daily workflow of the Vehicle Maintenance Department. Distributes maintenance and repair work to technicians based on skill levels and mountain needs. Works with Vehicle Maintenance Manager and Service Specialist to create goals and objectives. Maintains communication with internal customers and outside vendors. Trains technicians in safe work practices and helps develop skill sets across the team. Performs quality checks on completed work.

• Distribute work to technicians based on skill level and mountain needs.
• Monitor job statuses during repairs and update leadership with missed deadlines.
• Receive vehicles and equipment from customers and verify concerns.
• Update departments with current timelines of repairs based on parts availability, technician availability, and mountain needs.
• Perform PMI’s and resulting repairs in accordance with Powdr Copper Mountain’s Vehicle Maintenance guidelines and standards on fleet including trucks, vans, transportation equipment and snowcats.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, design, modify, and complete failure analysis on fleet vehicles including, but not limited to, trucks, vans and snowcats.
• Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system schematics.
• Perform minor welding/fabrication projects using machine shop tools.
• Be knowledgeable and proficient in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, hydrostatic drive systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Be knowledgeable and proficient in troubleshooting and repair of light truck and van computer systems such as emissions, airbags, antilock brakes, etc.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully to train co‑workers in all areas of maintenance and repair operations.
• Assist in the training of Powdr Copper Mountain personnel in equipment operation, including vehicle check‑out procedures and safe equipment use.
• Inspect and operate all fleet equipment to verify repairs performed.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities on work orders, indirect labor log, and parts requisitions for KPI and department objectives.
• Consult manuals, trade publications, trade associations, vendors, colleagues, and training programs to stay current with new maintenance technologies and improve efficiency.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of work areas to provide a safe environment.
• Monitor department waste streams to ensure recycling and disposal of all products in accordance with Powdr Copper Mountains guidelines.
• Work closely with warehousing to ensure accurate specification of parts.
• Monitor special‑order parts’ arrival dates and ensure timely installation or returns when necessary.
• Partake in the maintenance and repair of all shop equipment. Audit special tools inventory and condition.
• Manage one or more of the following areas:
  
  A) tires,
  
  B) paint and body,
  
  C) welding,
  
  D) fuel inventory,
  
  E) lube supplies/hazardous materials,
  
  F) general shop equipment, and G) hydraulics.
• All other duties as assigned.
