IC Design Engineer

Job Overview

Broadcom’s ASIC Products Division is seeking a Design Automation Software Development Engineer in the Design For Test (DFT) team developing SoC ASIC products. The role will define, develop, deploy and support the methodology, design automation software tools and flows used in ASIC development.

The position involves development, testing, and deployment of software products and usage methodology for a worldwide, cutting‑edge ASIC DFT technology development and implementation team. These tools support test logic hardware development, synthesis, insertion and integration, as well as verification that the logic is implemented correctly. Other tools are used in generating production tests for manufacturing the ASIC products.

• Using Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python or TCL scripting to automate design tool processes
• Developing complex tools in languages such as C++; debugging tool and design flow related issues for IC designers
• Providing support and training on tools and methodologies to engineers at multiple geographies
• Working directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues
• Applying hardware/software skills to create innovative solutions
• Developing documentation and training on custom flows and internal tools
• Understanding and deploying new and evolving DFT architecture solutions

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, C/C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Digital logic design and Verilog HDL knowledge
• Understanding of programming concepts such as object‑oriented design, memory leaks, data structures, sorting, recursion, stack overflow and greedy algorithms
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
• Understanding of Scan Test architecture and implementation
• Experience with Streaming Scan Networks is a plus
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments, scripting, digital timing analysis, software development tools and revision control systems

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering and 5+ years of related experience; or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering and 3+ years of related experience

The annual base salary range for this position is USD  to USD .
