Position Summary
A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must keep the vehicle in compliance with the company’s safety standards, adhere to all Company, state and federal regulations, and complete vehicle condition reports (VCRs) daily.
Principal Responsibilities- Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, equipment, gauges and controls are in proper working order.
- Safely operate the truck along the designated route, read the route sheet, and service each customer as identified or assigned.
- Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
- Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced timely and professionally.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them according to department procedures.
- Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable waste.
- Clean area around accidental spills following safety standards and policies.
- Monitor vehicle condition to remain operationally ready, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
- Complete route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other required reports.
- Maintain required productivity standards to service all customers efficiently.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in the company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Provide good customer service skills, professionalism, and honesty.
- Use good time management to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
- Follow work schedule and address challenges as they arise.
- Adhere to company policies, promote safety standards and avoid inappropriate risks.
- Maintain pride in work and strive to achieve goals.
- Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
- Class B or higher commercial driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
$26‑28/hr USD + $3K retention bonus + weekly OT and paychecks + competitive benefits. This is a DOT position.
Pay RangeThe pay range for this position is $21.35 to $29.37, which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
