Temporary GIS Data Collection Specialist

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• High school Diploma or GED Certificate.
• Associate's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems or related field preferred.
• ESRI Arc GIS Field Map and Survey 123 preferred.
• 1 year experience in the GIS field.
• Valid state driver's license (subject to motor vehicle review).

• Performs GIS data collection and verification of assets including but not limited to Electric, Water, Wastewater, Gas, and Telecommunication utilities and infrastructure related to utilities.
• Operates handheld data collection equipment including phones, tablets, surface pads, computers and supporting equipment.
• Performs light GIS editing and manipulating of utility company's data.
• Completes GIS data analysis and completes simple reports and requested by supervision.
• Assists in office as needed.
• Performs data collection and take accurate and clear mapping notes.
• Inputs data from the field into engineering computer systems. Processes information as needed.
• Accurately runs mapping instruments including total stations with data collectors, GPS equipment, and other conventional mapping equipment.
• Prepares or assists with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical narrative reports; performs information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
