Ironworkers are responsible for the layout, installation, assembly, and steel erection components in accordance with blueprint plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The desired candidate will have a willingness to work in high places, have a good sense of balance, and be alert to potential danger to themselves and others. You must work in a manner that helps to create a safe and healthy job site and support the Jensen Builders Core Values of dependability, integrity, and diversity.
Duties- Comfortable working at heights of 30 feet or greater.
- Preparing construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
- Safely operate and tend to equipment/machines/tools used in ironwork construction.
- With proper training, operate a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools and equipment as directed.
- Install metal building doors and windows.
- Set up and tie off safety cables and warning lines on roof or decks.
- Read & understand blueprints, erection drawings and manifest specifications as required.
- Maintain a high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
- If the applicant is unfamiliar with any responsibilities above, they would need to possess the willingness and capability to learn the tasks.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to get self to and from Jensen Builders offices.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrated dependability.
- Ability limited travel out of town, and over-night as needed
- Minimum Tool Requirement:
Toolbelt, 16oz or larger hammer, screwdriver (6-1 type), tape measure, speed square, retractable utility knife, chalk box, lineman or rebar pliers
- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of ironworker construction experience.
- Knowledge of steel erection techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License
The Construction Worker will work in conditions of repetitive movement, bending and twisting, climbing, using hands to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Construction Worker lifts heavy objects (50+ pounds), walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Must be able to read and follow instructions.
