Position: High School Math Teacher ($5,000 Sign on Bonus)

High School Mathematics Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that helps students develop strong mathematical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. You will be responsible for teaching curriculum ranging from Algebra and Geometry to Advanced Math (e.g., Pre-Calculus, Statistics).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction:
    Develop and deliver lesson plans that are engaging and align with state/Common Core standards.
  • Assessment:
    Regularly evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and projects to monitor progress and adjust teaching methods.
  • Classroom Management:
    Maintain a safe, orderly, and encouraging environment conducive to learning.
  • Individualized Support:
    Provide extra help and differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Communication:
    Meet with parents and guardians to discuss student performance and provide progress updates.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with colleagues to develop curriculum initiatives and participate in professional development.
  • Technology Integration:
    Utilize technology to supplement instruction and enhance student understanding.

Other responsibilities include selecting and requisitioning appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintaining inventory records. You will also supervise students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation and lunch. Additionally, you will administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.

Reliable work attendance is required. All positions assigned 30 or more hours weekly (typically 6 hours daily) are eligible for a full benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid leave.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field applicable to senior high school education.
  • License issued by Iowa BoEE for senior high school teaching.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy enabling differentiation.
  • Knowledge of senior high school curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system, technology devices and software applications.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

Travel Requirements:
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

* Teachers will not be eligible for future sign-on bonuses if rehired within 3 years of separation. A teacher will not be eligible for a sign-on bonus if a prior bonus has been offered and accepted. If a teacher is terminated before a full year of employment or abandons their contract they will be required to repay the sign-on bonus at time of separation.
