Certified Athletic Trainer CNOS

Position Overview

CNOS is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for Fort Dodge Senior High School. The role involves preventative care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, supervising the daily operation of the athletic training room, providing coverage of games and events, and documenting injury notes for communication with CNOS physicians.

• Provide preventative care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
• Supervise daily operation of the athletic training room to ensure smooth operation of treatment and care of student athletes.
• Work with athletes to rehab injuries and develop plans to return them to game‑ready status.
• Prepare athletes for practices and games by taping, wrapping, and applying modalities before participation.
• Provide coverage of games and work with athletes when injuries arise during play.
• Document injury notes and communicate with CNOS physicians regarding student athlete care.
• Gain experience within CNOS ancillary services such as Sports Performance, Athletic Training coverage of area special events and outreach high schools, and Orthopaedic Urgent Care.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and Board Certification required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Eligible for license in Iowa.
• New graduates encouraged to apply.

• Board Certification required.
• State of Iowa license required.
• CPR and BLS certification.

• Varied shifts during the week.
• Mostly afternoon, evening, athlete practice and event coverage.
• Year‑round position.
• Must be available to work weekends.

• Cell phone stipend.

• Extra coverage/pay opportunities with Bandits Indoor Football, Metros High School Hockey, and other tournaments and sporting events.
