About Your Patient:Our patient is a resilient one-year-old who was born prematurely and has overcome incredible challenges. She recently transitioned home from the pediatric intensive care unit and is thriving with the support of her loving family and skilled nursing team.
She requires a compassionate, detail-oriented nurse who is comfortable caring for children with advanced medical needs, including ventilator support, tracheostomy care, respiratory treatments, and tube feedings.

Respiratory & Ventilator Management
- Ventilator monitoring and management
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Continuous pulse oximetry monitoring
- Oxygen therapy management
- Nebulizer treatments
- Chest physiotherapy
- Early recognition and intervention for respiratory distress
- Perform comprehensive respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and integumentary assessments
- Medication administration and management
- Feeding tube management and care
- G-Tube
- Aspiration precautions and monitoring
- Pain assessment and management
- Ongoing monitoring and documentation of patient condition
- P prompt communication of changes in condition to the physician and care team
- Bathing, hygiene, and diaper changes
- Oral care and skin integrity monitoring
- Passive range of motion exercises
- Developmentally appropriate play and interaction
- Comfort measures and emotional support
- Encouraging growth, learning, and developmental milestones
- Reinforce caregiver education and training
- Provide ongoing support and encouragement to family members
- Communicate changes in patient condition
- Promote a safe and supportive home environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes

QualificationsQualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Iowa
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Critical care, PICU, NICU, ventilator, or tracheostomy experience preferred
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Current CPR certification (PALS preferred)
- Ability to work independently while providing compassionate, family-centered car
