Job DescriptionResponsible for decorating bakery items. Assist customers with their bakery orders by telephone and in person, ensuring courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.

Reports to:
District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, Health Wellness Home, Bakery Department Manager. Positions that report to you:
None.
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
- Smiles and greets customers, learns names, addresses them by name whenever possible.
- Assist customers by escorting, securing products, loading or unloading heavy items as needed.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and take product orders.
- Takes customer orders at the Bakery counter.
- Work with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Check orders for the day and set up a timeline and production schedule.
- Decorate bakery items in a timely manner and stay current on new designs and trends.
- Ensure department standards are met; check cake orders for details daily and indicate supply needs.
- Order supplies for the decorating area, deliver products, and set up wedding cakes outside the store.
- Communicate with the bakery manager regarding displays, weekly ads, and special needs daily.
- Check product dates, pull cases for work, and list items to fill or replace.
- Develop bakery orders for bakers, track daily retail production.
- Identify tasks with coworkers and lead part-time or other employees (instruct and review work).
- Participate in employee cross training.
- Maintain proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and neat.
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines, and report to work on schedule.
- Wrap all product as necessary.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- File, post, and mail materials; copy data between records.
- Interview to obtain basic information and provide basic direction.
High school or equivalent; six months or fewer of similar or related work experience.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 100 pounds (shared lifting); up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 10 pounds constantly. Must perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Visual RequirementsVision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction; color vision; depth perception; field of vision.
Working ConditionsStore environment with significant pressure to meet deadlines; exposure to flour dust, noise, cleaning chemicals, residual fumes, and extreme temperatures.
Equipment Used to Perform Job- Standard bakery equipment: mixers, ovens, turntables, tips, bas, airbrush, cake machine, telephone, intercom system.
Daily contact with general public taking orders; weekly contact with suppliers/vendors.
