Job Overview

A NAPA Counter Sales Associate serves as the “face” of the retail store, greeting customers and providing automotive parts solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide auto parts answers and solutions to retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone.
  • Use parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
  • Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with every visitor.
  • Bring a customer focus and high energy to fast‑paced stores.
  • Welcome retail customers into the store and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience.
  • Use technology (computer, cash register, telephone) and paper catalog system.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn automotive parts.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Love fast‑paced retail environments.
  • Great listening skills and empathy for customers.
Preferred (Not required)
  • Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  • Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
  • Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
  • Entirely customer‑centric (external/internal). ASE certifications.
