Job OverviewA NAPA Counter Sales Associate serves as the “face” of the retail store, greeting customers and providing automotive parts solutions.
Responsibilities- Provide auto parts answers and solutions to retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone.
- Use parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
- Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with every visitor.
- Bring a customer focus and high energy to fast‑paced stores.
- Welcome retail customers into the store and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience.
- Use technology (computer, cash register, telephone) and paper catalog system.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn automotive parts.
- High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Love fast‑paced retail environments.
- Great listening skills and empathy for customers.
- Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Entirely customer‑centric (external/internal). ASE certifications.
