Job Summary
Ziegler Ag Equipment is hiring an Ag Technician for our Fort Dodge branch. The role involves working on the full line of agricultural equipment from planting to harvest. Working hours are Monday‑Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair agricultural equipment, including application, tillage, planting, and harvest machines.
- Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborate with other technicians and assist with troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and product knowledge.
- 2‑year technical college degree in diesel technology or a related field; or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience.
- 2+ years of relevant ag diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and team members.
- Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
- Own mechanic tool set and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Pre‑employment drug test required; role is safety‑sensitive.
- Push/pull up to 50lb.
- Lift/carry up to 60lb.
- Perform tasks such as standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck and trunk rotation, stair and ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squatting, forward and overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, and fingering/grasping.
- May work in indoor and/or outdoor environments with potentially loud noise levels.
- Competitive pay ($27.00–$45.00/hr, varying by location).
