Job Overview
Ziegler CAT is seeking a Field Service Supervisor to lead a team of Field Service Technicians supporting customers needs. The role involves answering field service calls, opening service calls, managing labor, and dispatching technicians. Customer service, problem solving, leadership, and coaching are key.
Responsibilities- Customer Contact: Take field service customer calls; seek approval for additional work; collaborate on invoice disputes; service call details; and additional segments.
- Service Call Labor Management: Open service calls and segments; order parts as appropriate; approve employee time in Workday or D365; monitor service calls to ensure estimates are met; troubleshoot parts availability; manage field truck utilization.
- Safety and Contamination Control: Complete incident reports; conduct field service truck inspections (daily, weekly, monthly); ensure PPE and safety standards (lockout/tagout, JAS, monthly inspections) are followed; work with employees on a safety accountability plan; hold regular safety meetings.
- After Hours Support: Provide after‑hours support to customers.
- Technical Subject Matter Expert: Advise on parts inventory; stay current on new equipment and technical hot topics.
- Training and
Coaching:
Answer technician questions; conduct coaching and performance conversations; hold regular team meetings; enforce training completion; plan training based on customer needs; build team morale. - Staffing: Interview and hire technicians; oversee onboarding.
- Employee Management: Complete annual performance reviews; maintain employee records in Workday; keep up-to-date on HR policies; support career development; work with HR on accommodations; coordinate with Workers Compensation.
- 2‑year technical degree strongly preferred; high school diploma required.
- 5+ years of relevant diesel equipment knowledge preferred.
- 3+ years in a lead or supervisory position preferred.
- Good computer skills (MS Office).
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively.

- Ability to hire, build, and support a high‑performing technician team.
Physical Requirements
- Lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
- Stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, climb stairs, reach forward, bin lift, finger/grasp.
Base compensation range: $74,200.00 to $ (dependent on skills, experience, and education).
