The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Community Access, Bureau of Child Support Services is seeking a Case Manager (Job Classification: Child Support Recovery Officer) to join our team!

This is a full-time opportunity, Monday – Friday with typical hours being from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Upon successful completion of the training period and with management approval, this position offers a hybrid work opportunity, working from the office as scheduled, and from home. This position is located at the Fort Dodge CSS office located at 800 1st Ave S, Fort Dodge, IA.

• Performs complex case management for parents in need of paternity, medical and support establishment, modification of an existing order and maintenance of support orders.
• Manage an assigned caseload. Prioritize tasks and time to meet established performance goals and critical deadlines.
• Communicates with a variety of community partners including human service agencies, employers, clerks of court, county sheriff, attorneys, and other entities to achieve the goals of the Child Support Program through phone calls, emails, and other written correspondence.
• Build strong working relationships with parents and help them overcome any reluctance to cooperate with Child Support services and programs in order to ensure their success.
• Independently analyzes a variety of complex case situations and legal scenarios to determine the appropriate action to establish, maintain or modify support for families in and out of the state of Iowa.
• Uses Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) proficiently and has the aptitude to learn other computerized systems, including ICAR, is critically important for success in this position.
• Comprehend and adhere to confidentiality provisions in the Code of Iowa.

• This position requires occasional travel. A valid driver's license is required to utilize our state vehicles that may be used for travel outside of the office as needed.
• Successfully complete and pass a comprehensive criminal and IRS background check, including fingerprinting.

This position is located at the Fort Dodge Child Support office which is located in downtown Fort Dodge. With convenient access to the hospital, medical providers, banks, library, and other services, Fort Dodge offers big city amenities in an intimate small-town atmosphere. Fort Dodge has great public and private schools, as well as two colleges. Fort Dodge offers many family-friendly attractions and outdoor adventures.
