Duties
* Ensure that the rules and regulations for publications are adhered to in the maintenance or regulatory provisions for the awards and decoration.
* Plan overall work operations, sets priorities, and establishes objectives.
* Manage awards programs and exercises technical authority for proper administration of inter-intra government agencies for customers.
* Review current policy changes, operating conditions, field, new/revised legislation, executive orders, higher echelon directives, existing policies/procedures/regulations to determine the nature/scope/direction of proposed or required changes.
* Prepare memorandums/briefings for Awards and Decorations Branch, The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), Command General (CG), Human Resources Command (HRC), Personnel (G-1), Chief of Staff, Secretary of the Army, and other officials' signature. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes:
Providing policy and procedure guidance on complex problems that arise within the various programs;
Establishing performance standards for subordinate employees to evaluate production; and/or Planning human resource operations to meet present and future mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
